The Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site preserves the last of Drumheller's 139 mines.  Our mine site operated from 1936 to 1984 and we reopened to the public in 1987.  We have the last wooden coal processing plant in Canada and we offer visitors the chance to experience Alberta's fascinating industrial past...both above and below ground.  A variety of guest tours and experiences are available; all bookable via our website.  We are open to the public from May through October.  Off-season group bookings are sometimes a possibility, email us to inquire!

Life in a coal town..unearthed! An Historic School Site and Museum with displays and exhibits about the bustling coal town that East Coulee once was. Daily soup and sandwich specials, fresh baking and lots of refreshments available during the spring and summer in the Willow Cafe.

The Homestead Museum features a comprehensive collection of over 10,000 antiques and artifacts from the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Star exhibits include a two-headed calf and an entire house that was purchased out of a 1919 issue of the Eaton's catalogue. Open daily from May 16th to September long weekend.
